It was recently announced that ASC conservatory student Addison Stone was selected by the Carbonell Awards committee to receive the Jack Zink Memorial Scholarship, which is awarded each year to three exceptional graduating seniors who plan to pursue theatre or journalism. Recipients are selected based on talent, experience, and demonstrated commitment to their chosen art form, and one student each is selected from Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.

The sky’s the limit when it comes to what the future might hold for the talented alumni of Area Stage Company’s conservatory! For proof, you can just look to past student Marilyn Caserta, who, after spending many of her childhood and teenage years receiving theatre training at ASC, went on to become a professional actress living in New York. Now, she is not only making her Broadway debut in the hit musical Six, but was recently named among those performers that are to be honored at this year’s Theatre World Awards.

Based on the 1991 film of the same name, the show was Disney Theatrical Productions original foray into adapting their beloved movies into stage productions.
